Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Acoustic Audience DL's

Hey Now!
I love the acoustic shows dearly, both JGB, and the Dead. I'm digging a podcast right now from http://deadshow.blogspot.com/
This sparkles.
I was wondering if there are any recommended audience sources available on the archive I could grab. Suggestions?

One of my favorite acousic auds besides those already mentioned is 11/8/70 Capitol Theatre. Some really funny chatter too with Bob and Jerry telling the audience that they are missing "Godzilla" and the "39 Steps" on TV' Bobby tells us about Godzillas ability to breathe radioactive fire. Check out Dr Flashbacks fine review of this show!

Although not audience recordings these two shows are often overlooked acoustic gems, the bailout show after the New Orleans bust where the Dead pull off an unplanned acoustic set due to problems with Phils bass amplifier. Of particular note is Jerry sharing the vocals on Long Black Limousine:

Another personal favorite is this gem from the Euphoria Ballroom:

Hope you listen to and enjoy these shows!

staggerleib:
Fireeagle pointed you towards the Jerry & Bob rarity in 1981. They returned five nights later and brought their friends with them:

Here's a "benefit show" from 1994 that is in the "Phil" section on the archive. You'll probably appreciate this one as well; it looks as if somebody recently upated this jewel:

I want to once again thank all of you who responded to this plea.

Such a glut of music in a span of 2 days.

How cool is that!

There's a bunch of Bobby solo stuff. I particularly liked an acoustic show he played, I think Rob Wasserman was on bass. Something like "Bobby's Back Yard" Love that Spoonful.

Hey SL--talked about them many times, but just to remind, if you want great early era acoustic sets, be sure to check out 5-15-70, 6-7-70 and 9-20-70, right here at LMA.
